David Gorney believes that every client of Romano Law deserves the best legal representation possible. His unique background has shaped him into a true advocate for his clients. David’s practice primarily focuses on no-fault, civil rights, personal injury, assault and battery, and employment litigation.

David earned his undergraduate degree at the prestigious James Madison College at Michigan State University. After a brief hiatus from academia, David earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. David excelled in Law school earning the Book Award, for the highest grade in the class, in both Children and the Law and Administrative Law. David also participated in the Juvenile Appellate Clinic and Business Planning Law Firm Program. David is passionate about the community and has gained significant experience in law school pursuing public interest work.

While in law school, David worked for the University of Michigan Detroit Center for Family Advocacy (CFA). There, David was part of a multidisciplinary team that included attorneys, social workers, and family advocates who helped low income families resolve family law issues. While at the CFA David learned the importance of being an empathic and therapeutically minded attorney. Additionally, David worked for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. There he developed valuable litigation skills while seeking justice for the victims of crime.

David moved to Detroit Michigan in 2013 with his wife. The two love the city and are proud to call Detroit home. When David is not zealously representing his clients, he enjoys reading comic books, exploring the city of Detroit, and binge watching a good television series.
